“Sexy” Local Chamber work to add more benefits for local and area enterprises

 2012

The question:
Why should I renew my Chamber membership outside of just being a good business person in the community, when I get and conduct a lot of my business outside of area?

Response: Chambers are definitely known for their “sexy” Chamber work.  Yes, we do have sexy Chamber work.  Those heavily attended meet and greet programs, after hours, golf tournaments, trade shows, ribbon cuttings, round table discussions, educational workshops and more that is critical to survival for enterprises to build relationship.  That is the work Chambers are known for.  There is also a whole other component of Chamber work that is vital to the economic sustainability of every community.

You invest time, resources and money into your most valuable assets: employees.  As you conduct business in the community or across the country, Chambers of Commerce across the country and more importantly in your local community are committed to the quality of life of our communities.  The quality of life is dependent upon the people who make up the community and the enterprises that employ them.  Having a strong workforce with the support of Chambers in areas of growth, transportation, human services, housing and other local issues are vital parts of communities.  Enterprises support those efforts by becoming engaged members and business partners with their local Chambers.

Just to give you a little more insight into our local Chambers here are just a few ways, you can become more involved.

  • Chamber investment gives you access to the Chamber Government Affairs with Free participation and opportunity to be heard and valued,
  • Chamber investment is returned to the community through better legislation, greater productivity, quality education, a quality workforce, and area advancement,
